Jeanette Au

Jeanette Au was raised in the Lower Eastside of New York City. She attended Fiorello LaGuardia High School of Music, Art and the Performing Arts and obtained her BFA in Interdisciplinary Fine Art from the San Francisco Art institute and her MFA in Knitwear Design from the Academy of Art University.

Her well-recieved Fall knitwear collection was chosen and shown in Mercedes-Benz Fashion week in New York. Her collection was inspired by the richness of the Ballet Russes and the Western fascination of the imaginary East. The use of color, texture and hand worked textile manipulation in her work is with the intent to not only push the boundaries of knitwear design but also to open dialogues and discourse in the rhetoric of fashion.
